Two University of Illinois dairy classes will be offered this
fall on-line. Registration is now open for the classes—Advanced
Dairy Nutrition and Dairy Reproduction and Management.
Advanced Dairy Nutrition will meet on Monday evenings on the
World Wide Web beginning Sept. 30 and ending Dec. 10. The class
includes a new section on metabolic disorders, an updated section
on transition cow management and feeding, and forage-based feeding
approaches including pasture. The class is limited to the first
25 to enroll.
Dairy Reproduction and Management begins Oct. 1 and will continue
for 10 weeks at 7 p.m. It will be limited to 25 students on campus
and 25 students off campus. Topics to be covered include female
and male physiology, heat detection, new target breeding programs,
health management and applications, and new technologies. To enroll

A workshop sponsored by University of Illinois Extension is scheduled
for November 9 at Rock Valley College in Rockford. The workshop
will cover a wide range of topics, including; “Understanding
Ethnic Markets,” “Where Are All the Good Ideas,”
“Ag. Tourism,” “Profit Potential in Commercial
Fruits and Vegetables” and “Viticulture.” For
