Features

A long time favorite with excellent performance during the cooler times of the year. Good for early spring and fall planting. Very cold tolerant. Range of heights from tall cutting types to border plants to trailing types. Traditional flower shape to open face varieties.

Culture

Full sun to light shade. Prefer cooler times of the year. Well-drained soils that tend toward alkaline pH. Excellent if planted mid to late summer as they will do well until very hard frost kills them.

Cultivars

  • 'Rocket' 3' tall
  • 'Liberty' 3' tall
  • 'Sonnet' 3' tall
  • 'Solstice' 12"-18" tall
  • 'Tahiti' 6"-12" tall
  • 'Luminaire' (trailing)
  • 'Chandelier' (trailing)
  • 'Ribbon' series 12"-18" tall

Notes

Tall cultivars may need staking. Trailing types require good drainage. Remove spent flower spikes to promote rebloom and to keep the plant from dying back.

Attracts butterflies.
