Determining What Price to Charge
Question: " I love babysitting and know all about how
to babysit, but I am not sure how much money to ask for. What is
the normal amount of money given per hour, and is more money charged
for additional children to watch? Please write back ASAP. Thanks
a bunch!"
Response:
- Ask others in your area what they charge for babysitting services.
- Ask your patrons what they paid their last baby-sitter.
- Finally, determine what method of pay interests you the most.
In other words, you may charge an hourly rate, a flat rate per
job, or according to the number of children and degree of care
needed (i.e., infant vs. a young child who is potty trained).
These are just a few ideas to think about when setting your rate.
