Day 1

Donation List

  • 1 box with 4 packages of instant oatmeal
  • 1 container dried cranberries
  • 1 cup package chopped walnuts or almonds
  • 1 container of orange juice
  • 1 can of chicken chunks
  • 1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 2 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 can of mushrooms
  • 2 cans of peas
  • 1 box whole grain crackers
  • 1 can of tuna
  • 1 package of egg noodles
  • 1 can mandarin oranges
  • 1 can pineapple chunks

*Recommend family purchase of shredded cheese

Menu

Breakfast

4 packages of instant oatmeal
1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup chopped walnuts or almonds
1 container of orange juice

Servings: 4 (1 serving = 1 package of instant oatmeal, ¼ cup dried cranberries, ¼ cup chopped walnuts or almonds and 1cup of orange juice)

Food Groups per serving: 1 serving of grains, 1.5 servings of fruit, 1 serving of meat  

Lunch

Chicken Stew
Combine and heat* (4 servings):
1 can of chicken chunks
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 can of mushrooms
1 can of peas

Serve with whole grain crackers (5 per person)

* can purchase 2-3 cups of shredded cheddar cheese to add

Food Groups per serving: 1 serving of meat, 2 serving of vegetables, 1 serving of grains (1 serving of dairy if cheese is added)

Dinner

Tuna casserole
1 can of tuna
1 package of egg noodles
1 can of peas
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
crushed saltine crackers to make a crunchy top
Mandarin oranges and pineapple chunks

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook noodles until tender and drain. In a casserole dish, combine noodles, cream of mushroom soup and peas. Top with crushed saltine crackers and bake for 30 minutes

Servings: 4 (1 serving= 4oz of noodles)

Food Groups per serving: 1 serving of meat, 4 serving of grains, and 1 serving of vegetables

Dairy= 1
Meat= 3
Note: This menu low is in  dairy
