The USDA Food Guide recommends three cups for those eating about 2000 calories per day. Non-perishable dairy is limited.
Evaporated or canned milk
Non-fat dry milk
Pudding cups made with milk, non-refrigerated
Hot chocolate mixes with added calcium
Pressurized cheese made from milk, non-refrigerated
Notes: Bottled cheese spreads are non-perishable but most don’t supply much calcium and are usually high in fat. Consider non-dairy sources of calcium:
Breakfast bars with calcium added
Canned clams
Canned or bottled juices with calcium added
Graham crackers with calcium added
Ready-to-eat cereals with calcium added
Oatmeal with calcium added
Sardines and canned salmon with bones
