Prairie
DropseedZone: 4-8
Height: 2 feet
Prairie Dropseed is one of our native, clump forming grasses. It has an upright-arching habit of growth. Flowering occurs in August and September, which produces a distinct sweet aroma. Prairie dropseed tolerates a wide range of growing conditions but prefers a well-drained soil in a sunny location. It is extremely heat and drought tolerant but does appreciate water during droughty periods for best growth. Seed heads give the appearance of a cloud over the foliage.
