A handsome groundcover for shaded areas. Prefers rich organic soil that is slightly acidic. Glossy evergreen foliage grows 3–5 inches tall. Purple flowers produced under the foliage. Slow grower. Space 10–12 inches apart. Perennial. Hardy in Zone 4.
