Plastic Worm Bin

  • Mainly for fruit and vegetable trimmings
  • Very easy to build; tidy for indoor use
  • Plastic bins keep compost moist; will require regular additions of dry bedding
  • $6 - $20 for new materials

Materials
Plastic storage container with a tight fitting lid: 12" - 18" tall; 12"x24" base

Tools
Power drill with ¼ inch bit

Assembly
For indoor use, drill about six holes per side for ventilation about halfway up the sides of the bin. For outdoor use, also drill at least 12 holes in the bottom for drainage.
