A grass-like rush relative with very fine bright green leaves that are hairlike. They are topped off by a terminal flower spike that resembles the threads of fiber optics. This is an annual grass in cold climates.
Annual grass used in the garden in wet sites and along ponds. Useful in containers as a fine filler or specimen plant. Needs to be kept moist. Can be overwintered indoors in a very bright sunny location with plenty of moisture.
