Boston Fern, Ruffle Fern
There are many mutations of the sword fern species that have become very popular house plants. The Boston fern is a mutation, found near Boston in the late 1800s.
Care
Plant in humus soil and keep the soil evenly moist at all times. Grown in low light, with day temperatures of 68–72 degrees and cooler night temperatures of around 55 degrees. They need humidity.
Special Requirements
Protect ferns from extreme chilling. In spring, divide roots of old plants.
