Date & Time November 12, 2009 (1:30 PM - 3:00 PM)
Location University of Illinois Extension
1102 McConnell Rd.

Description Persons living in homes in rural areas that are constantly exposed to the wind could save money by installing a windbreak. In the winter, a dense multi-row windbreak can save 10 to 40 percent in heating the home. Energy used to cool homes in the summer can also be reduced by a windbreak.

Dave Shiley, University of Illinois Extension Natural Resources Management Educator will present a program regarding windbreak design, planting, and maintenance. Renovating old windbreaks will also be discussed. This statewide teleconference, which includes a presentation filled with windbreak images, is set for November 12th at the University of Illinois Extension office in Woodstock. The seminar runs from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
