Bi-State Conference: Crop Managment

COVINGTON, Ind.—Purdue University Extension and University
of Illinois Extension are collaborating to offer the annual Bi-State Crop
Management Conference. The program will
be held at The Beef House at 16501 Indiana State Road 63, Covington, Indiana on
Tuesday, December 10th.
Registration begins at 8:45 am E.S.T, and the presenters will begin
promptly at 9:15 am.
The program features Bob Nielsen, Purdue University Corn
Specialist sharing his presentation "One Guy's Opinion on Corn Seeding Rates." Following Dr. Nielsen, will be Dennis Bowman,
University of Illinois Extension Educator, and he will be presenting "Drones on
the Farm & Other Precision Technology." The morning will also feature
presenters Mike Plummer, Conservation Ag Consultant for Illinois Council of
Best Management Practices, presenting "Cover Crops: Facts, Fiction & Real
Management" , and before the lunch buffet Matt Pearson, Fertilizer
Administrator Office of the Indiana State Chemist, will present "Fertilizer
The afternoon session will engage participants in a "Double
Outlook for Double the Money". Jim
Angel, Illinois State Climatologist will discuss the weather outlook. Chris Hurt, Purdue University Agriculture
Economist, will round off the day with his presentation on the market
The cost for the program and lunch buffet is $20 payable at
the door. An additional fee of $10 is
required to earn credits for the Indiana Private Applicator Recertification
Program, Certified Crop Advisor, or Indiana Commercial Pesticide Applicator
