Notes

Dependable perennial that will reseed. Needs division every 3-4 years in order to keep vigorous and keep from spreading. Attracts birds, and butterflies. Reportedly deer resistant. Other species to also consider include R. nitida 'Herbstsonne' very tall (6'-8') and dramatic with yellow flowers. R. maxima very tall (6'-8') striking blue foliage and large yellow flowers. Rudbekia hirta is the annual species of black eyed susan sold under a variety of cultivar names.
