Features

Impressive plants with very large blooms. Good as a specimen or planted where soils tend to stay consistently wet.

Culture

Prefer rich moist soils that stay consistently moist and will grow in areas that are wet. Full sun to light shade.

Cultivars

'Luna White' 24 inches tall, large white flowers

'Kopper King' 4 feet tall, light pink flowers, red maple-like foliage.

'Fireball' 3-5 feet tall, red flowers, fine textured foliage

'Anne Arundel' 3-5 feet tall, large nine inch pink flowers

'Crown Jewels' 2-3 feet tall, large white flowers, deep purple foliage

Notes

Good plant for wet sites. Heavy feeders so fertilize in spring. Long lived perennial and not needing division for many years. May need winter mulch to overwinter in colder areas. Very late to emerge in the spring.
