Marilyn Brengle is the Assistant to the Director, Extension Field Operations and a member of the Associate Dean, Extension and Outreach core adminitrative team. She provides counsel, support, and day-to-day operational assistance in developing policy for University of Illinois Extension.

Brengle serves as the organization's Affirmative Action Officer and monitors ADA compliance of Extension offices throughout the state. Her duties also include providing leadership with the field staff performance appraisal process.

A Master of Science degree in human development and family ecology was received from the University of Illinois. Her bachelor's degree was in home economics education from Eastern Illinois University.

Brengle has worked with the Illinois Cooperative Extension Service since 1973. She began her Extension career in Henry County as a home economics adviser. She later moved to Edgar County and provided program leadership for 21 years before becoming the Champaign County Extension Director in 1997. Brengle accepted the Assistant to the Director, Extension Field Operations position in September 2007.

Brengle's professional affiliations include Epsilon Sigma Phi and the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences.
