1615 Commerce Parkway
Bloomington, IL 61704
Pam Atkinson is the Consumer Economics Educator for Extension based in
McLean County. She also serves
Livingston and Woodford counties.
Her background is in Family and Consumer Sciences education and she has just
finished a master's degree at Illinois State University in Human Development
and Family Resources. She taught for a couple of years in the Ridgeview School
District and spent some time in McLean County Unit 5 schools.
Pam's teaching areas currently include budgeting and family finances, credit
cards, credit reports and credit scores, and in "green" programs- how saving
energy not only helps the environment but saves you money as well.
Pam grew up in a southern suburb of Chicago. She wanted to join 4-H and
raise hogs but that wasn't an option in the suburbs. She has worked and
volunteered for several environmental based organizations especially ones
involved in sustainable farming practices. She currently lives in McLean County
with her husband and two grown children.
She is looking forward to helping area residents achieve maximum "wallet
wellness". She is a contributor to the Plan Well Retire Well blog.
