Tabitha Welch is the 4-H Youth Development Extension Educator for University of Illinois Extension in Unit 21: serving Clay, Effingham, Fayette, and Jasper Counties. She is primarily responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs that are consistent with local needs and statewide priorities, teaming with Extension Educators, Program Coordinators, Community Workers, and Volunteers. Tabitha also provides leadership to the entire 4-H Youth Development Program in Unit 21, focusing on 4-H clubs, 4-H Groups, and Youth Education Initiatives identified for Clay, Effingham, Fayette, and Jasper Counties.
Tabitha graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science Production, Agribusiness Economics minor and from Auburn University with a Master of Science in Meat Science.
She is native to Fayette County, and held the Extension Program Coordinator position for Clay and Fayette Counties prior to beginning as Extension Educator in September 2013.
Tabitha is a member of the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA) and the Illinois Extension Professionals for Youth Education (IEPYE). She is also an alumnus of the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority and participates in the Auburn University Ag Alumni Mentor Program.
