Jamie Washburn is the Local Foods Systems and Small Farms Extension Educator for University of Illinois Extension in Units 20 and  21: serving Clay, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Clark, Crawford, and Edgar Counties.  She is primarily responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs that are consistent with local needs and statewide priorities, teaming with Extension Educators, Program Coordinators, local growers and farmers markets.  Jamie provides education and assistance to fruit and vegetable growers and small livestock producers.

Jamie holds a B.S  in Animal Science with a minor in AgriBusiness Economics and an M.S. in Animal Science, specializing in Ruminant Nutrition and Reproduction from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

    Livestock management

    Grazing and pasture management

    Animal product marketing, Niche marketing

    Cover crop utilization in livestock systems

 

Jamie resides in Clark County with her family where they raise Angus cattle.

Jamie is a member of the Illinois Specialty Growers Association, Illinois Vegetable Growers Association, Illinois Beef Association, National Cattlemen's Beef Association and the Illinois Farmers Market Association.
