Amy Leman provides leadership to 4-H metro programming in Macon County. Leman joined the Macon County staff in 2002. Her youth development assignment includes leading positive youth development initiatives for after-school programs, community groups, 4-H community clubs and other youth-serving organizations - with special emphasis on youth in our local metropolitan area. Her areas of expertise include youth/adult partnerships, positive youth development principles, youth leadership, volunteer development, and work with adolescents. Leman's duties also include collaborating with a variety of organizations and programs within the community.
Leman attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for her bachelor's degree in human development and family studies and the University of Illinois at Springfield for her master's degree in public administration. She is a certified advanced facilitator of the Matrixx System/Real Colors program by the National Curriculum and Training Institute.
She is a native of Macon County, where she served as a 10-year 4-H member prior to leaving for college. Even while away, she continued to volunteer with the 4-H program.
She is a member of the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA) and the Illinois Extension Professionals for Youth Education (IEPYE). She has received the IEPYE Early Career Service Award; the North Central NAE4-HA Excellence in Teen Programming Award and the NAE4-HA Achievement in Service Award.
