Sherry Fulton began her duties as 4-H Youth Development Educator in the DeWitt-Macon-Piatt Unit in July 2011. She serves all three counties, focusing on the Community Club 4-H Program. Prior work experience has included serving in Family Life and 4-H Youth Development Educator roles in DeWitt County, and as the 4-H Youth Adviser in Greene County. Fulton received her bachelor's degree in elementary education and family environment from Iowa State University, and her master's degree in Extension education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Her duties as 4-H Youth Development Educator will include overall management of the 4-H youth program, including staff training and management, volunteer training and management, program planning for youth development and 4-H programming, educational instruction, and building community relations for youth programming.

Fulton is a member of the Illinois Extension Professionals for Youth Education and the National Association Extension 4-H Agents.

Program Offerings

Fulton works with volunteers in both a 4-H community club setting and in community outreach programs.

Program examples include: Health Jam; Jr. Leadership Academy; Earth Day; Summer Lunch Program; 4-H Shooting Sports and after school special interest clubs.

She also networks with other agencies to meet the needs of youth through program offerings.
