Anne Heinze Silvis is Interim Program Leader for Community and Economic Development and Extension Specialist in Community Development and Leadership for University of Illinois Extension, and is Director of the Laboratory for Community and Economic Development, Department of Human and Community Development at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Anne serves on the Community and Economic Development Team for University of Illinois Extension. Her work focuses on topics including leadership development, rural development, telecommunications and access, sustainable agriculture and group process skills.

Anne chairs the planning committee and hosts the annual Illinois Leadership Conference, and directs funded projects in leadership development, community planning, biofuels, and sustainable agriculture. Anne is past chair of the Board of Directors for Rural Partners, the Illinois Rural Development Council; serves on the Board of Directors and as Communications Co-Chair for the International Community Development Society; and serves as the Book Review Editor for Community Development: Journal of the Community Development Society. Anne teaches the course, Survey Design and Analysis in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and is a member of the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development's initiative, Foundations of Practice. Anne serves on various committees and task forces for ACES, University of Illinois Extension, and the State of Illinois. Anne is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison and earned an MBA from the University of Illinois.
