Some Tropical Plants to Consider

Brugmansia

An eye-catching plant due to its large shrub-like habit and ability to produce hundreds of 6-8 inch long trumpet-shaped blooms in pink, yellow or white and fragrant. Dramatic blooms hang down from the plant. The plant cycles in and out of bloom every 3-4 weeks. They prefer full sun and rich moist soil. Because the plant flowers on new growth, fertilize regularly to keep it actively growing. Overwinter growing plants in a greenhouse if available or allow the plant to go dormant by withholding water and keeping it in an area that is about 40 degrees. In the spring, prune back, repot and bring into a warm area to start to regrow. Set outside after danger of frost is over.
