Flower Drop - Tomatoes and Peppers
Flower drop can occur in beans, melons, squash, and eggplants as well. Occasional flower drops early in the season is normal since plants tend to produce more flowers than they can support to develop into fruit. However, extended flower drop, which interferes with fruit development, may be attributed to other factors. Some of these factors are: Strong winds, moisture stress, high nitrogen rates, high temperatures, too much watering, lack of pollination, and too cool weather for bees to come out to the plants.
