White to greenish white flowers in ball-like heads; sharp strappy foliage that resembles that of yucca.
Full sun; moist, well drained sites. Tolerant of dry sites.
Found in prairies and savannahs. Rattlesnake Master is listed as threatened in Ohio and Michigan. This plant has a taproot, so is difficult to transplant.
