Features

Trumpet shaped flowers are pink in bud, opening to shades of blue. The buds are held on a coiled stalk.

Partial to full shade; consistently moist soils.

Notes

Found in moist woods. Listed as threatened in Michigan. The plants go into dormancy (die down) in summer. Naturalize readily by self seeding and by spreading through underground rhizomes.
