If your spouse is vested but dies before reaching retirement age, you will receive a percentage of the monthly benefit he earned up to the time of his death. If he dies before he is vested, you will receive no benefits. Some states mandate automatic survivor's benefits for state or local government pensions. As a general rule, you will forfeit survivor's benefits if you remarry.
